Introduction In 1992 Jennifer Kirchner moved from Los Angeles to Santa Rosa with the intention of adopting a dog. But things don't always go as planned and today she shares her home with cats-still hoping there will be a dog in her future. When she first arrived in Santa Rosa, she followed her passion for animals to the Humane Society of Son.Cnty. where she coordinated a yearly fundraiser. That volunteer position turned into a paid position and she managed their Volunteer Program for 5 years. In 1997 she left the Humane Society and was asked to join the FFSC Board of Directors. Almost simultaneously, one of the organizations co-founders had to reduce her involvement and FFSC was seeking a volunteer to head up their Volunteer and Adoption Programs. Jennifer stepped into that role. Shortly thereafter, Pick of the Litter, the organization's thrift shop opened and Jennifer worked part time at POL and the balance of her time managing volunteers, the Foster and Adoption Programs. Jennifer co-managed Forgotten Felines for two years until her co-manager left the organization. At that time, the Board named her Executive Director and she still holds that position today.

How can I make a difference today?
