Introduction	I was born in Northwestern Indiana to my still-married parents and moved to Holland, Michigan (City of Tulips on Lake Michigan) before I started school at age 4. In high school, I ran cross-country and track, tried gymnastics for a while, and got involved in the art program. I went to Hillsdale College to study German of all things. While there, I ran cross-country and track, joined a sorority, became a mentor, and traveled during the summers. At the end of sophomore year, life changed. I got married in 2000, and had four kids with my husband before he left Spring 2005, divorced in August 2007. I got a part-time job and went back to school full-time in January 2006. I am maintaining a 4.0 at IPFW while working on my master's degree and teaching composition. I also gave birth to my fifth child [Ember '09], and met and married Aaron, the man who made this journey worthwhile.
