GenderFemale
LocationBarberton, Mpumalanga, South Africa
IntroductionI grew up wild, learning to love city life and all it has to offer in terms of the food scene, arts and business much later, but I still prefer the wild, the big sky, open spaces, birds and animals. I now hermitise on my farm in Mpumalanga. I started off on a farm wedged between the KNP and Thorny bush, and another on the Blyde river. Then Kaapsehoop where my mother and one more teacher taught all the primary school grades to forester's children. We lived in a log cabin which the bees fancied for themselves so I was stung more often that year than most beekeepers can brag of ever! Later we moved to White River where I continued my primary schooling. We moved to the Northern Cape and then I back to Johannesburg to study, get married and have children. I am now the doting grandmother of no fewer than four granddaughters, and one grandson, having returned to "my roots" which is Mpumalanga.
