About me

IntroductionMy name is Mika, I'm 44 years old, and this is a blog about my head. Here you'll find my own investigations of (and speculations regarding) the extensive brain, head, and neck imaging I've had over the past six+ years, as well as the feedback I've received from doctors.

When I meander, which "frontal subcortical impairment" ensures I will; I hope it gives some insight into one person's experience with progressive neurological illness. That experience is roughly half the reason I started looking at my medical images. The other half is that I love a puzzle with the potential to resolve into sense.

As for the title of this blog, "Perceived Distinctions", it's a bit of a play on words, a reflection on interdependence. A lot of distinctions we perceive are artificial, hindrances that warrant correction or rebuke; conversely, a lot of what we see clearly is not self-evident. As human beings, as a collective, we achieve through collaboration, curiosity, and regard. We check eachother's blind spots and foster grace.
