Introduction | I'm a sun deprived and therefore clear night handicapped Seattle amateur astronomer. Can you use "astronomer" and "Seattle" in the same sentence? I do keep busy with astronomy projects on the side when skies are cloudy, I was given the job as president of the Eastside Astronomical Society a few years ago, and keep getting re-elected, so I guess I'm stuck with it! Not a bad thing though, a bit of work at times but a lot of fun. I'm also an official JPL recognized astronomy geek since I have been a "JPL Solar System Ambassador" for a couple years now. Pay is low (zero), but I do have fun with it also, often get fun stuff in the mail from NASA, and I'm still waiting for my seat on the shuttle (or most likely the Ares/Orion now!). I'm also a sailor, pilot, flight instructor, and cat wrangler. For my real job, I work for a non-profit internet company (www.charityusa.com) where I try to keep the cuss factor to a minimum for our employees who insist on using Microsoft products and be productive at the same time. I don't take my work home with me since I've become quite the Linux junkie now, but still work as the family IT guy... Wait! Is that a hole in the clouds?? |
