| Introduction | The Supertaster: I always thought my taste buds were just mired in my childhood. I don’t like, and never have, most bitter foods. I don’t like many types of vegetables, coffee, and I didn’t used to like wine until I really tried, and I will have a beer only occasionally because, well, It’s just not good enough normally to crave. It turns out that my taste buds are not mired in my childhood, but rather I discovered while watching an episode of “Good Eats,” that I am a supertaster. While it’s not as cool as it sounds to be this way, it does give me a unique perspective on foods and how they do or don’t complement each other along with wines. If you think you are a supertaster, come along with me as I tour restaurants and blog about them here on between courses. I’ll take you on a journey that only a fellow supertaster can deliver. |
