| Introduction | I am a happily married, working mom of an 18-year old son and a 5-year old daughter. I was raised with a strong Midwestern work ethic by small business owning parents. A previous career in the apparel industry sent me traveling around the world. After moving back and forth across the U.S., we are happy to be settled back in the Heartland enjoying a simpler life near family, friends and home. When I'm not managing the family business, or chasing the kids, I channel my creative energies into home design and decorating. We bought and sold 6 homes over the past 12 years often in what many consider a terrible market. I enjoy the challenge of re-imagining living space on a very modest budget with a little elbow grease and creativity. I would describe my design style now as everyday livable, simple, comfortable, and clean with elements of American farmhouse, rustic country, industrial, and coastal. I love mixing vintage with touches of modern. My greatest challenge? Editing! I know a little bit about a lot of things but am not an expert anything. My dad's fear that my varied interests would cause me to be good at everything but not great at anything probably hits pretty close to home:) |
