IntroductionAbout 8 years ago now, my son, Lachlan, gave me a card for Mother's Day that said, amongst other things, that 'sometimes she keeps promises'. When I asked him how that made him feel, he was sitting on the end of my bed, looked me straight in the eye, and told me 'I don't know when I can trust you.' It was at that very moment that I knew I needed to understand trust a whole lot more. How was it that it could break down that easily, and I thought I was a pretty good Mum? What I realised as I researched and interviewed hundreds of people was this - we all know trust is important, even critical, in all relationships, whether in business, at home or in communities. What we don't know is how trust works, how it is built, how it breaks down, and more importantly, how can we get better at building trust in our relationships, and keeping it when it's there. How do we get better at determining who we can trust and when, making better decisions and nurturing trust. This blog is dedicated to those who want to learn more about trust. Share your thoughts, make comments, and enjoy the truth about trust.
