| Introduction | In July 1991, I joined the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) as a Cadet Officer. My family is very supportive of me joining the military life even though I had an offer from a local university to pursue tertiary education in accountancy. Since my childhood, I have made known to them my ambition and love to be a military officer. For this reason I firmly believed they blessed me with my decision. After 19 years of serving the nation, I have never for a moment regretted my decision. I wholeheartedly agreed that a navy is not just a career. It provides me more than what I have expected. It also gave me a new perspective on my life. I have learnt masses of lessons in my career from the very first day I joined. |
