| Introduction | After reading books like 'Omnivores Dilemma' and seeing movies like 'Food Inc', we decided to do what we can to produce our own food, indulge in local agriculture and improve our immediate environment. We started out by joining a local Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)for a veggie share. After the first year of learning to consume mass quantities of local, fresh and unbelievably delicious vegetables, we were soon looking for more ways to get involved. We now participate in local CSAs for meat, fish and eggs. We also decided to get our hands dirty with our own hens, three raised bed gardens, a bee hive and much more. This blog is our journal about lessons in urban homesteading and indulging locally. |
