You've got to make contact with the alien leader. How will you tell when the conversation is finished?
Assuming aliens have leaders (i.e. hierarchal society) and can communicate with us (probably not in person due to massive distances and we cant violate the speed of light). We will only talk via "Intergalactic Skype"..so we can end it like all other Skype calls and just hang up the phone.
