Introduction	I used work to in Los Angeles with a group of students who are often undervalued by and underestimated by society at large. I went to work each day with the idealistic goal of social justice in mind. I believe that the way to accomplish this is by entering the system, understanding how it works, and changing it from within. Now I work at a public school in a very affluent area. It happens to be one of those areas that people "ooooh" and "ahhhh" at when you tell them. It's really not so: public schools are still, and will always be, public. Public education is a broken system that is meant to serve everyone and leave no one behind, but instead seems to serve few and leaves no corporations behind.
