| Introduction | I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa in the 1980's, eating simple American foods like hot dogs, potato chips, and Twinkies. I loved to look at the fancy foods in Better Homes and Gardens magazine and dreamed of learning to cook them myself. I started cooking at about age 8, mostly teaching myself. Over the years, my food has become increasingly fresh, organic, vegetarian, local, and gourmet, but I still appreciate a good old-fashioned Iowa State Fair fried whatever on a stick. I created this blog as a way to share my recipes with friends and family. I hope you enjoy! |
