| Introduction | @bobeiferd Old man with many great memories and just as many plans for the future. Was beatnik, hippie, and programmer. Currently United Reservations agent and dreamer. For this Blog I will expand: I love music and play woodwind instruments -- clarinet, alto sax, baritone sax, and Scottish bagpipes. I wish that I was good enough to make music for a living - I am not. After 5 years, Michigan Tech awarded me a BS degree in math; the only thing I was absolutely sure of was that I was NOT a math genius. Lucky for me, UNIVAC needed people to program computers. They hired me and my life was changed. Finally, something came along that allowed me to excel. For 40 years, I wrote code, directed other programmers, designed systems, did quality assurance, and had a blast. I loved every day I worked -- When the 1990 recession hit, the old folks were let go - too expensive and not adaptable? Career 2 - Bought a Subway restaurant and ran it for a few years. Career 3 - United Airlines Reservations Agent servicing High Value 100K fliers Career 4 - Internet marketeer, eBay Store, Etsy Store, and a feeder Website. |
