| Introduction | I have been working with children and in education for 16 years. Education: Undergraduate degree in Art. Minor in American Humanics. Master's Degree in Education. Work Experience: Day Care setting, Camp Counselor, AmeriCorps, Assistant for Warren County Schools, Preschool for Warren County Schools, Speical Education teacher for Warren County Schools, 3 years in home daycare. Philosophy: I believe that childcare is not just a place to send your children when you are at work. Children should be surrounded by people who love them and have their best interests at heart. Children need to be engaged and respected. Hands on experiences and play are the best way for children to learn and be engaged. It is important to allow children to explore the world around them, we do this through real life applications (such as cooking lunch), discussion (questions asked during experiment and play time), and sensory activities (learning how things work, feel, smell, taste, and look). |
