Introduction In an effort to go from 230 lbs. to 165 lbs. I started a 10 week walk/run program in May 2008. After 10 weeks I started training for the 2009 LA Marathon. I was down to 195 lbs. by December 2008.

35 pounds in 8 months - wow this is easy!

January 2009 to March 2010 - 15 months and 19 marathons later I was only down to 193 lbs. Something had gone horribly wrong! I cracked down on eating and hit my goal near the end of 2010.

Shortly after that, my weight begin to creep up slowly. By June 2021 I was back up to 220 lbs. A short stint in the hospital at the end of June and I was down to 200 lbs. (I didn't eat much the 7 days I was in the hospital). A tumor the size of a tennis ball was squishing my brain - no more tumor and my brain is happy again. It's been 4 months and I presently weigh 205 lbs. so the weight loss was real. I am ready to get my fitness life back in order which includes getting the weight off and qualifying for the Boston Marathon. I hope blogging about my journey will help keep me on track.
