IntroductionI was originally diagnosed with an MFH sarcoma in my left femur in 2002. I had just finished my sophomore year of college and started having some knee pain. Before going back to school, I went to see my orthopedic surgeon who saw something inside my femur and sent me to Rush to see a specialist. A biopsy confirmed that I had a tumor inside my femur. I did 22 rounds of chemo and had 1/2 of my femur removed (with the tumor inside of it) and had a rod inserted into my leg to take the place of my femur. In January of 2004, I was declared cancer free. Since 2002, I have had 10 surgeries on my leg to fix various mechanical issues with the implant. 9 years later, in June of 2012, a nodule popped up in my lung. I had surgery to remove that tumor. In December of 2013, a tumor popped up in my left thigh. I had that tumor removed and did 32 rounds of radiation to my thigh area to clean up any remaining cancer cells. On Wednesday April 16th, while doing routine 3 month scans, a nodule popped up in my left lung. We will pick up from here as I approach another surgery and chemotherapy.
