About me

Introduction My Conversion story will be in this part and the Introduction section: Baptised as a baby, I was ignorant of Christ for the first 18 years of my life as I chose worldly ways instead of holy ones. I hardly ever prayed, never read God’s word (the Bible) and almost never went to Church, let alone Mass. Then amidst a time of difficult trials whilst in Italy, I fell into desperation and realising this, I called out to God, if he were there, to help me. After reading Renzo Allegri’s two books about St Padre Pio called “A te per te” and “I miracoli di Padre Pio”, “To you, for you” and “The Miracles of Padre Pio”, I was inspired by this Great Saint to put aside worldly things. I started reading the Bible, and felt great peace as I still do today while I read it. However, undecided about which Church to attend, I underwent careful analysis of the Churches; in the end seeing the spiritual riches and rich history of the Catholic Church as well as reading the stories of other Saints, I came home to the Catholic Church that was founded by Jesus Christ and began to attend Mass during the week and on Sundays.
Interests However, I was rebellious in my ways, and recognising this I began to exercise strictness in my self discipline. All in all, It took about 3 years to completely put away my rebelliousness and embrace the Catholic Church in all its teachings and in doing so realise the error of my own ways. Finally, spurred on by apparent actual grace, I felt inspired to set aside time to write this Blog, which aims to inspire everyone in Striving for Sainthood, hence the title. Believing that God wishes us all to be Saints helped me overcome false humility and recognise the God-given wisdom of Pope Benedict XVI who once said; and by which I wish to make the overall Inspiration for this blog: “The World promises you comfort, but you were not made for comfort; you were made for Greatness!” In closing, Christ wants us all to become Saints, and I hope by reading this blog, you will be further inspired to Strive for Sainthood. May God bless you in abundance, Chris Paynter
