| Introduction | Maulayna Summyyah Bilal is the executive Director of EUREKA, the California Career Information System. She was one of the first participants in the skills identification process created by Richard Bolles, and has worked as a teacher, counselor, and career development specialist. She has been involved in the development and implementation of computerized career information systems since 1979/80. Her work has included data analysis and development, as well as participating in some of the early work on the Standard Occupational Classification System (SOC). Her primary work has been in directing career information systems, first in Montana, and since 1986 in California. She has created several career access strategies, including ones based upon learning styles, values, labor market characteristics and interests. She has participated in the Association of Computer Based Career Information Systems,and once served as President;and was one of the key people involved in the California Career Conferenece which later became the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) |
