Introduction | I am an electrical engineer, with 40 years experience in military electronics. I am married to Gail Connell Coulbourn, an English teacher and wonderful wife and mother. We are fond of cross-word puzzles and jumbles, Gilbert and Sullivan, Shakespeare, and the Marx Bros. I play Bridge and Chess and spend a fair amount of time at the church and gym and the computer. I ran 13 marathons in my 40s and a number of 10 ks and one team triathlon (bike, run, canoe). I have written part of my autobiography, and have looked up a lot of names in our genealogy. We have been blessed with three fine sons and our daughters-in-law, and our grandson and granddaughters. My father was a CPA and my mother a teacher and linguist. My brother and sister got the language gene. I got only the desire. I studied 7 languages, but never got past the 4th semester, except in English. I speak the governor’s English, as long as he is a Texan. When I was growing up I wanted to be a “fixer.” Our sons all learned to fix things, and surpassed me in computers, contracting and furniture-making, among other things. |
