| Introduction | Since 2000, I've made my living as a freelance journalist for such publications as the Commercial Appeal newspaper, Wax Poetics, MOJO, Spin, Stop Smiling, Slate, Garden and Gun, Paste Magazine, the Memphis Flyer, Memphis Business Journal, the Oxford American, and more. in 2003, my first book, Waking Up in Memphis, was published by Sanctuary Press (UK).
