| Introduction | It happened by mistake. I've worked with my hands my whole life -- fixing cars and renovating homes and businesses. And I was mesmerized by TV artists -- you know, the ones who show you how to paint a picture in less than 30 minutes. So my wife gave me a gift certificate to an art center, and I was going to take a watercolor class. When I went to the art center, however, there was a ceramic exhibit that caught my eye. It intrigued me, so I signed up for a clay class instead. I had never even touched a piece of real clay until then, but once I did touch the clay, I was hooked. The way it moved, the way it felt just amazed me. |
