| Introduction | My name is Grace, I have been Silversmithing for just over a year now, and I am a volunteer instructor at the Kingston Lapidary and Mineral Club. I enjoy creating the stones that I use in my silver, copper & brass pieces. My jewelery collection comes to life as a result of my daily interactions with family, friends and the many Earthy Birthy Womyn who inspire me. Much of my Stirling Silver Jewelery is inspired by Birth! Pendants, charms, and rings representing the pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding experience are a popular theme. I am also a new spinner. I got started with my Tom Forrester, Linum high whorl spindle a few years ago. I also have a handmade spinning wheel made from cherry wood gathered on the artisan’s property, something I will be dedicating more time to this winter. I’ve been knitting for a long time now, notorious for not using patterns, or altering them beyond recognition. I don’t stick to the rules of knitting often enough, I adore my River John Needles. I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, painting, sculpting and gardening.. oh and of course knitting, spinning, and someday if time permits weaving. Life is Good! |
