| Introduction | I am a junior at George Mason University, majoring in English and minoring in Classics and Latin. I'm spending this semester abroad at the University of Oxford, England, where I will be studying Latin and Greek. Trivialis is a Latin adjective, meaning "belonging to the crossroads." A trivium was the place where three roads came together - a place where travelers could meet and exchange information. To me, this is the true purpose of study abroad: a chance for our paths to intersect with those of people from other cultures and backgrounds so that we can learn from them. |
