| Introduction | PLEASE NOTE: The best way to read this blog is to start from the earliest date and work your way towards the most recent entries. This is because it is an archive of more than a century's worth of interesting and mysterious mementos left by my Great Aunt Lucille when she passed away in the late 1990's. She was born in 1907 and was adopted by a well-to-do couple in Mississippi, where she spent most of her life. In one of her diaries she describes herself as outgoing, athletic, and popular. I would have described her as "eclectic." She never married and had a career as a beautician. She was deaf for most of her life. Among her things I found several old photos, a few composition books, letters, greeting cards, vacation souvenirs, and tons of old newspaper articles. Unfortunately, most of it is in no apparent order with very little explanation as to why she kept it. I don’t know that I have the patience to sort through such a jumbled family tree, but here is my best attempt! |
