About me

Introduction	Ayse Birsel is Co-founder and Creative Director of Birsel + Seck an empathy driven product design firm in NYC. She is a National Design Awards finalist and the recipient of the 2001 Young Designer Award from the Brooklyn Museum of Art. In 2008, Rhode Island School of Design honored her with an Athena Award for Excellence in Furniture Design. Birsel was named a Fellow at the International Design Conference at Aspen, and has taught at Pratt Institute. She is a Fulbright Scholar. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art and Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum and has received numerous design awards, including the IDEA Gold Award and the ID Magazine Excellence Award.
