IntroductionWe are John & Susan Emery. Brent was born Oct. 2005. He has an older brother, John, who is 14, sisters, Robyn, 16 and, Steph, 18. Sat., Jan. 28th, 2006 Brent woke up happy and smiling. He had been a healthy child with no sign of illness. Around 2pm he was fussy and crying off and on, little did we know by 10 pm he would be fighting for his life, airlifted from our local ER to Children's Hospital in Seattle. We later found out that Brent had a cancerous liver tumor that had ruptured, causing life-threatening internal hemorrhaging. Brent survived 6 surgeries over an 8 week period. He was in the hospital a little over 2 months, 40 days of which were spent in the ICU. After his release, he was in and out of the hospital and ER. His last stay was 2 1/2 weeks for an infection. Brent completed cancer treatment in the form of chemotherapy in June of 2006. He is a trooper and a fighter. We believe that God has a good plan for Brent's life, especially as we have seen His miraculous intervention in his life to this point. The cancer is in remission. He'll be screened until he is 6 yrs old. He is working to overcome some developmental delays, especially in speaking.
InterestsI like to be held and cuddled by mommy. I like to sit in the big recliner with daddy. I love it when big sister Stephanie carries me around the house. Big Sister Robyn and I 'talk' to each other. I like to watch big brother John and smile at him. Sometimes sit with the kids and watch them play video games. I like it when my family pays attention to me and I can smile at them. I like it when Daddy sings to me, "You're the cutest baby boy in the neighborhood...Brent Michael is your name."
