Introduction I have several blogs, mostly about learning and the culture of schools. I also create blogs to communicate and collaborate with individual students or groups of students. As part of Pathways Learning I will occasionally blog on classroom learning and school culture or other items of interest to teachers, parents and learning specialists who work with school age children. My blog 6..7..8.. is for middle school students and maybe their parents. Perhaps someday I will blog for parents of babies or young children and early childhood educators at I Love You To The Moon And Back.
Interests I love my city. I explore it and other big cities by walking the neighborhoods, rummaging through used bookstores, forging in farmer's markets and local eateries. On rainy days I take refuge in art museums or small theaters showing independent and foreign films.
Favorite Movies My top five favorite films are: The Red Balloon, Annie Hall, Au revoir les Enfants, Etre et Avoir and Breaker Morant. Other favorites include: The Christmas Story, The Lives of Others, It's A Wonderful Life, The Visitor, Toy Story trilogy, Up, Casablanca, most of Kurosawa and any Monty Python.
Favorite Music Santana, Dave Matthews, Ben Harper, James Taylor, Carole King, Eric Clapton, Boz Skaggs, Van Morrison, Keb Mo, U2 and Amos Lee.
Favorite Books I can't have one favorite book any more than I can have a favorite student but since I am generally a pleaser I will comply with a sampling of favorite books: A Thousand Splendid Suns, Middlemarch, anything by George Eliot, anything by Jacob Needleman, The Thunderbolt Kid, Charlotte's Web, Winnie the Pooh, Harry Potter and anything by Truman Capote or Tobias Wolfe----too many others to list.

Radio wire is often used to make bird nests. What station do they listen to?

Learning is usually messy- at least when I am the learner.
