| Introduction | Hello, my name is Mary Merrill. I am a grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren, two grandsons and three granddaughters, Valon, Riley, Vivy, Vawna, and Hannah. They are my joy. I have always loved to create, and when Vivy was born I was inspired to start sewing for her. I wanted to dress her in colorful, fun clothes that would not look like everyone else. My husband, Larry, had painted the boys a rocking chair on their first birthdays, and when it was Vivy's turn, she had to have a special chair too. The chairs were so cute, that we decided to try and sell rocking chairs with the clothes. I was at a job that I hated at the time and I had always wanted to work for myself, so Vivy's Closet was born. A friend of my daughter let us share a booth at a craft show in April of 2008 and I made my first sell and we were hooked. I may never get rich selling little girl clothes and rocking chairs, but I sure will have fun and love my job. |
