| Introduction | How did it come to this? One Sunday night, (somewhere in between reading a month's worth of shelter mags and scouring the Internet for the perfect antique credenza), I realized that I have an unhealthy obsession with living. Mind you, when I say living, I don't mean summitting mountains, leisurely afternoons in the park, or y'know, breathing. I mean (ick) fine living. Don't send me to go play bridge with your nana just yet. I'm of the belief that fine living can be just as accessible to 23 year old Congressional staff assistants as it is to Connecticut-bred ladies who lunch. It's all about creating a space designed for you – your needs, your daily rituals and your imagination. It's NOT about filling your apartment with expensive and meaningless crap, attempting to recreate the home you grew up in, or assuming that fluorescent lighting is appropriate anywhere other than state penitentiaries. Fine living means creating a home filled with only what you need or love – everything else is clutter. In short, I started writing at this blog to share all of the ideas, things and traditions I love, and I hope you'll love them too. - Jenn |
