Introduction Andy Prest is a sports reporter for North Vancouver's North Shore News who is currently on a six-month parental leave. A native of Camrose, AB, Andy has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana University College (now U of A Augustana Campus), a Master of Journalism from UBC and a Blizzard of the month subscription from Dairy Queen. His work has been published in, among other things, the now-defunct Nelson Daily News, the North Shore News, the Vancouver Sun and online in The Tyee. The name Sports Andy was given to him on his first day of studies at the UBC School of Journalism after he told his new classmates that he was specializing in "Sports Journalism." Once they stopped laughing they realized he needed a nickname because there were two people named Andy in the class. The other one was six-foot-four. He became Tall Andy. Sports Andy's interest in sports began at a very early age with chilly soccer practices on the prairies and cold winter days in front of the TV with his sports-friendly family. His interest in his baby began the moment the stick turned blue.
