| Introduction | I am a mom to 3 amazing kids; a wife to Daniel; a Christian since the age of 6; I grow veggies, fruits, goats, and chickens. I love to can the things I grow and some stuff I don't-like chili base, soups and stews, homemade juice from just about anything, and pie fillings. I buy my honey from a local apiary, my coffee and tea are all Fair Trade, everything else down to my cotton clothing is organic. I carry my own shopping bags, drink tap water from my tested well, buy my milk and butter from a farmer up the road, my meats and veggies I don't grow come from the farmer's market. We listen to A Prairie Home Companion for fun on Saturday night and a lot of other shows on NPR (MPBN here in Maine). We are MOFGA members and for more info see my blog entry about that. |

Please describe how you could take the peel off an apple all in one go:
A good way is to blanch the apple in boiling water. Cut an "X" in the bottom of the apple, dip it in boiling water for about a minute, then plunge it in cold water. The peel will slip right off. This also works for tomatoes. BUT THE BEST & MOST FUN WAY? FIRE IT OUT OF A POTATO CANNON!!
