Introduction	Jerry W. Saveriano is the President and CEO of Sanda Communications. An unlikely balance of left-brain and right-brain talents, Jerry has a degree in English literature from San Francisco State University, and he was one of the first manufacturing engineers to be certified in the field of robotics by Robotics International of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. Jerry has consulted, lectured and published internationally on topics such as CAD/CAM, industrial robotics, computer-aided surveying, machine vision systems, CNC machine tools, intelligent machines in space and undersea applications, automated farming, close-combat robotics and many other related automation subjects. Jerry served as the founding chairman of Robotics International's Southern California Chapter, the second such chapter in the United States. He also worked as the first industrial liaison for the robotics lab at the University of Southern California. He authored the "Pioneers of Robotics" article in the Encyclopedia of Robotics. For the last seven years, Jerry has served as a member of the board of directors of the Software Association of Oregon.
