| Introduction | A simple little blog to log my learning journey in preparation for a career as a primary school teacher. Mainly for myself, but also for fellow students, colleagues, potential employers, parents and anyone else interested in working through the nuts and bolts of learning/teaching with me. Maybe I need to include a bit about me. I was born in Somerset in the UK and moved to Tasmania when I was 32 after backpacking in Europe, Asia and Australia. My favourite subjects are English and HASS. I love to be creative and flexible in my teaching and often find ways to authentically integrate different learning areas. I often find myself throwing a global and/or civics and citizenship spin on things. I am also particularly interested in the General Capabilities as I believe these to be really important in supporting students to become active and informed citizens. I'm super excited about having my own class, developing relationships with my students, discovering all their funny little ways and seeing them grow as confident little people, hopefully installing a lifetime love of learning. |
