It is worth updating, that many newer ATX power supplies produced nowadays no longer use separate windings for different main output voltages. Instead, they are essentially big 12V supplies with other output voltages (except for standby) generated from 12V using VRM modules. This allows for much better efficiency.
Supplies of this type can easily be recognized by reading the PSUs output power spec: the 12V rail output rating will be close to or equal to the total output power of the entire supply.
