Bunch of snowflakes in these comments. Ya'll really read about some of the unfavorable realities of European colonialism and had to warp it such that you're the ones being persecuted, Nobody is saying you, the reader, is responsible for what the article describes and you're not supposed to feel bad about it. All you're supposed to do is consider the real history of the expression and how it portrays real people and decide if you want to continue using it. And if you want to keep using it, you don't need to loudly announce that like it's an act of heroic resistance.
