Great article! The implementation of the 3Mbit protocal with such simple (by modern standards) chips must of been an impressive engineering feat. Is their a particular reason the connecter used an isolation transformer instead of a physical connection?
Also: I have thouroughly enjoyed your Alto posts and Mark's accompanying videos. Since your Alto is now working, do you have a list of things you plan to do with it in the future? (Other than using it to fix other people's broken boards)
