This is an excellent article. The examples were especially helpful in helping me understand this concept. Carry flag is simple, but this overflow flag was tripping me again and again. The following lines cleared the concept for me:
Signed overflow will never happen when adding a positive number and a negative number, since the result will have a smaller magnitude
...adding two positive numbers and getting a negative result or adding two negative numbers and getting a positive result...
