We're facing just such a choice in State House District 114 here in Florida. We're having a special election to replace the representative who was jailed after lying about her residence in the past special election to replace a representative that apparently wasn't paying his Federal Income taxes.

Our 3 choices are a Republican, an Independent, and a Democrat. Normally you would consider this a clear choice until you received the flyer from the Republican which outlined his "common-sense plan for gun violence prevention." Somehow I don't think these were things he thought up on his own regardless of him saying they are "his plan" The bullet points (no pun intended) are:

Ban bump stocks and high capacity magazines.
Create a mandatory waiting period.
Increase funding for school security.
Support mental health initiatives.

Where have we heard those before?

Anyway, who needs Democrats when your Republicans run on a Democrat platform?

I've had 3 young men come by campaigning for this guy and I told them I wouldn't vote for him on a bet. I asked them which would hurt more, being stabbed in the chest by a known enemy, or in the back by a supposed friend?

IMHO, gun owners are to the Republicans as African Americans are to Democrats. If we actually forced the parties to work for our loyalty this whole country would be better off.
