Great story! I am very pleased to hear that Court of Common Council President Shawn Wooden created the reading challenge for Hartford young readers. Congratulations to the youth and to Wooden for his outstanding leadership role in the program.

City of Hartford is in a critical condition to be playing children's game.

Hartford has a lot of talented children that have a lot of potential, and sadly they have never been recognized. Perhaps this sounds like a great gesture; and many might think of this as being a great challenge. I see it as a way to steer away from the real issues, there are many other ways to award these talented children. This to me doesn't call for a "Press Release". Where has he been hiding?? He has been very quite during all the mismanagement of City's funds and Mayor's staff wrong doing.

I think that Council President Wooden should focus on the real problems in City Hall, "The Corruption Scandals" that is giving our City a bad rap. C.P. Wooden haven't been to aggressive in handling them very well. He needs to step up and do a better job as the President of the Council.

Wooden needs to handle his position as mandated. It seems that this child has gotten more attention, then the Council President himself.
