Judging by the primary results, CT Democrats decided that a convicted felon is not the man with the leadership qualities to lead the state. I believe in second chances, but when the crime went on for such an extended period of time (years) and concerned such a breach of public office and trust, the man involved cannot be judged, in my opinion, as having the leadership qualities needed for this state. Hell, even the law profession wouldn't let him back into the ranks! Ganim got another well-deserved kick in the butt.

I'm not sure where you get your info from, there was never a need to "endorse" Segarra because he was not originally elected, he became Mayor by default after Eddie Perez was arrested on his corruption charges. And I was strongly backing and supporting Bob Killian until he dropped out of the race and then I had my third stroke so I was not in a position to be very active during that campaign. And I would have never, and never did, support Corey Brinson even before his arrest and I would not support him now.

Just because someone gave a gracious concession speech is not cause to vote for someone. This guy engaged in public corruption - I'm all for giving someone a 2nd chance, but not at the expense of public trust and funds. He used his public office for personal gain, just like Eddie Perez, and even though they may have paid their debt, it doesn't mean they should be given a 2nd chance to offend.

Connecticut is a liberal second chance state. Why not?
