the choice in the 4th district is between a former bagman for the convicted ex mayor or a felon with no moral compass.

Fact is, if Morales gets in, he will be so in over his head it'll be pitiful. Yet, the people from that district need a better person representing them than Roldan.

Also, everyone knows that Minnie and Ramon own the CDHC. It was a foregone conclusion ages ago that Roldan to not seek their endorsement and that it would go by default to whomever ran against him.

how many votes in the 4th district does the CHDC have that Morales can rely on?

If Minnie and Ramon own the CDHC how is that in 2008 they endorsed Ed Vargas and not John Fonfara when Minnie and Ramon were backing John? That said, the most recent post asks the real question; i.e. what, if anything, does CHDC's endorsement mean next Tuesday?

Anonymous #1 - How do you know Morales has no moral compass? Do you personally know the guy? Or do you just assume that anyone who commits a crime at any time in their life must be morally bankrupt? Must be drafty in that glass house you live in.

Candeleria gave Roldan his endorsement and Gonzalez was not pleased to say the least. Looks like Candeleria changed his mind.

As for endorsements, if they don't get anyone out to vote on election day they are worthless.

Anonymous..to answer your question..anyone who commits a crime IS morally bankrupt.Morales was incarcerated 5 times...so dont preach to me that everyone does this.

Mr Wareing...Minnie and Roman have an inordinante influence over Morales...I cannot get into details that will come out later, suffice it to say that Morales if he won, wouldnt be representing the 4th district as much as he would be representing Minnie and Ramon's interests.

My question isn't about the relationship b/t Angel and Minnie & Roman. It's how can it be that Minnie and Ramon "own the CDHC" (in the words of another anon blogger) when CDHC backed Vargas, not Fonfara in 2008?

Mr Wareing...go ask your friends minnie and ramon, they will confirm it.

BTW...the CHDC is backing Fonfara this time around...and they like that since they are on the payroll.

Mr. Ware abouts,

please keep out of Hartford Latino politics and concentrate your efforts on keeping Hispanics and Afro-American homeless from your downtown SoHo neighborhood.

Damn,

Eugenio Caro,
endorsing Morales simply means the social security check is no longer paying his part of the rent.

Political inflation makes strange bed fellows.

Damn again, endorsements from historical/Jurassic Park types is that cheap!!

(Morales) "a felon with no moral compass." Fact is, here is where institutoinal racism plays out. Go to Trinity College on any given Friday night during the school year and you will find people committing felonies. In fact, many have committed multiple felonies and WILL BE in the position to lecture the rest of us after they graduate from college about the need to protect "law abiding citizens," like themselves. AND they will be in the position to run for public office without questions about anybody referring to their multiple felonies that they committed. Trinity students are rampant users of illegal drugs. They just don't get arrested for it, cause they're not really the "bad guys."

I like that Morales was the ONLY candidate at the library debate to take on the question of mandatory minimums like drug free zones. He's not afraid to deal with institutional racism. Because that's what drug free zones are: institutional racsim. I hope the other candidates will have the guts to take on institutional racism as well.

Kevin: FYI - found this on another blog. Hope you are well.

It is attitudes like David's that is bringing Hartford down.Calling out Morales for his 5 incarcerations isn't "institutional racism" as David alleges, but is one person's opinion of Morales' past documented behavior.David mentions the kids at Trinity...but they werent arrested and incarcerated,so his pronunciations of their crimes is merely a guess.

David employs the "everyone does it, especially those kids at Trinity defense but it wont cut bait here.He cries "racism" where none exists.

Right, Rich. Latino politics is for Latinos. Too bad some of us who don't speak Latin have to endure being represented by such dim-witted Latinos as, in my case, Minnie Gonzales. We just have to hope that the Latino politics works out ok without our participation.

OK to have a felon with no moral compass in the legislature as long as a.)Trinity students get away with doing a lot of illegal drugs, and b.)he is opposed to the "institutional racism" manifest in "drug free zones." And, by the way, Rich, stay out of Latino politics.

Hey, Barry Hoosayne O'bama, keep your Irish tookus out of Latino politics.

The Obama administration faced an embarrassing diplomatic blunder today after it was forced to pull a warning about racism in Spain - just as the First Lady arrived in the country for a summer holiday.

Staff at the U.S. State Department removed the contentious advice to travellers, which included the phrase 'racist prejudices could lead to the arrest of Afro-Americans who travel to Spain,' from its website on Monday.

The grammar of our situation has now become a heavy burden on my ratiocination-al capacities to comprehend. Suffice it to say, Rich, that you obviously deserve sensitivity re-training. And, please, let us all stay out of Latino politics.
