"MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS AT THE HARTFORD FIRE DEPARTMENT"

A Hartford fire fighter position is a decent job with solid benefits. Unlike the police department where new hires must past state regulated minimum requirements through P.O.S.T., a fire fighter only needs a minor in-house background check. Therefore this job has become one of the best places for the city and Mayor to "take care" of friends and old gang buddies who need a decent job. Just another reason on a long list of why the Mayor is destroying Hartford.

Get a life! You seem so concerned about Hartford and I bet you don't even live in Hartford. Everything written in this article talks about minority fire fighters. Where is the dirt about caucasian FF's; no where to be found. Racist!!!

Racist!!! Stop crying the race card and face reality he is a liability to the people he works with and the people he is trying to help. Come on you don’t need to be Einstein to know when to remove your mask especially outside. Also upper management turned a blind eye to what he had done in the past. They allowed him to join an elite group of people and stain the image of those men and women of the department.

On another issues, maybe the department should do an investigation on vacation time used and not documented. You know who you are.

WOW! I knew I was correct (that inner feeling) about Henry M. Biffle. There is a deeper issue with anyone that had a ridiculous number of jobs. I knew of the person you investigated and your finding were right on the money. The reason some folks are calling you racist is because you should have countered with a story about a white person as well...then they would take the blinders off. It is amazing Henry was hired by the HFD when it is clear from his application he has some MAJOR issues (and did you see the exclamation point after the words child support...under the legal section of his application). Wow...excellent work and keep on doing what you do. This was so well investigated, it should have been a story for the Hartford Courant.

Alas, sadly enough you may have your proof that many of us already knew. Firefighting isn't just a job, its a way of life. Some aren't qualified before or after graduation. 08/08/08 class was obviously this way. A couple really qualified and experienced guys had to pull the rest of the class through. Dig and you may find a familiar name. I hope to god this isn't the case here and I'm wrong, but I've done my math and I come from a place where dept info and chatter is factual. I pray I'm wrong.
