Black lives matter. The protesters have the right to demonstrate, but why Hartford? Our PD is understaffed, there's no money for serious issues, let alone the overtime this will cost Hartford.
Why not move the demonstrations to some rich towns like West Hartford, like Farmington.
Hartford is broke. HELP!

Well, actually it appears that their "demonstration" was not within their right, or they wouldn't have been taken to the hoosegow. As to why here; what's an urban center for if not mass actions in the pursuit of social justice or the cure for breast cancer. And, while all law enforcement tends racist, the Hartford cops are the ones who enjoy the most opportunity to act as if black lives don't matter.
------------------
When I was a boy, just about the eighth-a grade, Mama used to say don't stay out-a late with the bad-a boys, always shoot-a pool, Giuseppe going to flunk-a school.

Boy, it make-a me sick, all the t'ing I gotta do I can't-a get-a no kicks, always got to follow rules.

Boy, it make-a me sick, just to make-a lousy bucks.

Got to feel-a like a fool and-a mama used to say all-a time.

What's-a matter you? Hey! Gotta no respect.
What-a you t'ink you do? Why you look-a so sad?
It's-a not so bad, it's-a nice-a place.

Ah, shaddap-a you face!

So....people can cause disruption to city services, force an activation of a mutual aid response for police assistance, and cause massive traffic jams and get away with it? Do you really think Judge Norko is going to prosecute any of those people? They have probably all received written promise to appears and sent on their way and the case will be dismissed. How about they be required to post a bond like every other person we arrest. No special treatment there!! Why are we giving this preferential treatment to these people? "Black Lives Matter"... Okay I understand your purpose for that, some what, but do you think any of the people driving back to Glastonbury and other towns really care about the statements that your trying to make. Nothing against them, but they are disillusioned to what really goes on in Hartford. I know I would be. They are only here 8-9 hours daily. How about go to Garden and Mather, Albany and Garden, Garden and Westland, where violent crime is on the increase. Where city residents can voice there opinions. I'll be blunt, I don't care, the only reason they don't go to those neighborhoods is because they are scared that they will become the victims crime. It's all a dog and pony show. If your trying to voice your opinions, how about use social media which is far more powerful than protesting. Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, etc. can be very useful in spreading messages. It's obvious this protest was done for other purposes and was only waste of time and resources.

How is it all these people can protest at 4 P.M.? Do they all work nights?
Did they leave their jobs early? Or...
Is it a coincidence this protest happens the Monday after the Race Pimp
visits Hartford?

They should be protesting Mayor Caviar, who, by ignoring the HPD staffing report which stated that we need 80 more cops, provided tha atmosphere for the murders and violence.

Crime is way up across the nation......arrests have plummeted.....once quiet neighborhoods are being overtaken by the criminal element. It will be sad that all citizens will eventually feel the pain brought forth by this as the crime wave spreads. These protesters will be the same people crying for police help when they themselves fall victim to violent crime, hopefully the police will be tied up at a similar protest such as this. This is NOT how to get your point across.

"ANY UNITS AVAILABLE" said it just right. Problem is, when these people are going to need the police there will be "NO UNITS AVAILABLE".

Cornell Lewis lives in Bloomfield. Huh....

Mr. "Activist", 65 yr old Cornell Lewis lives in Bloomfield. He was fired by DCF as a result of a serious incident, in which he failed to supervise youth under this care — as was his most important duty and responsibility! Lewis then filed a lawsuit against DCF, but the lawyer who represented him had his law license suspended. What's the status of this "Activist's" lawsuit?

Cornell Lewis is playing the race card again. Why not, one of the liberal judges on the bench may agree and award him couple o' millions...

Mr. Cornell Lewis has always been out for himself. I agree. Next time Cornell march and protest in Bloomfield where you reside. Leave Hartford alone because if you cared so much you would still be living in my home town Hartford. Get a life Cornell. Oh and what is the status of your firing at DCF. It is a real mystery. I wonder why.

Cornell Lewis was a Perez ally and was rewarded with money for his phones non-profit from the Hartford city council. He and Andrew Wood are nothing more then poverty pimps who live off politics and politicians. The idea that Cornell is interested in anything other then lining his pockets is laughable. There must be some angle for him to be involved in this stupid rally.....the truth will come out eventually.

I was asking the same thing, what is the status of Cornell firing at DCF, what is the status of Cornell lawsuit in the New Britain Court.

Another shooting in Hartford last night. Is downtown going to be blocked again by protesters during rush hour?
Wait a minute, was it a black victim and a white police officer, or was it a white victim and a black police officer, or was it, whatever

Kevin ,What is the matter with Hartford's Chief of Police ? While talking to a reporter regarding the traffic shut down in Hartford Monday ,he acknowledged their, (I'm talking about the idiots who have no life), intent and SAID HE "RESPECTED" IT !!!!!! You aren't supposed to respect criminal behavior as the leading law enforcer of a city! Then today he's on camera reporting the shooting in Hartford and felt compelled to state that the officer and suspect were BLACK. Do we now have to state what ethnicity a criminal and police officer is in the City of Hartford? Hope I don't get shot ,because it would be a mouthful to say "Irish,Italian and Polish American" suspect !!! What an embarrassment for Hartford's Finest,,Brian Foley should be the only one speaking on behave of the Police Department,in fact he should also represent the Fire Department too !

Pedro can't handle this, he's too busy counting calories, sugar and saturated fat in the unhealthy Dunkin Donuts naming rights deal, which is still unclear how much is the city getting out of this deal
