Albany Ave and Garden St. intersection is crime central. Let the bulldozing / gentrification start there.

That intersection does have its share of problems, and I have stood at too many vigils there for homicide and violent crime victims. On the flip side, there is a lot of potential in that corridor if we only had leaders to make it happen, rather than the poverty pimps who use it as a stage to show what they are doing. CHS, the Y, the Albany Ave Library Branch, UHA's performance building and the Café, even the Artists Collective which is having major financial problems are all diamonds in the rough. and with just a little leadership Albany Ave could have a much different image. And even the old Police Substation made a difference until it was essentially abandoned and never replaced. Wasn't a new substation one of the unfulfilled promises to the Community from Mayor Segarra and Council President Shawn Wooden?
