I never understood why they have those horrible light posts in their main street. Could somebody explain them to me?

The reason why, Simmy, is because these lamp plosts look great at night, once lighted. They look like ice, a bit. But i agree that during day time they don't look as magical as they are on night time.

I'm worried about the choice of colors on the castle. The stone block front is to close to the rockwork color behind it. Seems to loose the bottom of the castle in gray tones, making the castle look shorter and not as Majestic as it was. Duffy is fine on the shelf but would prefer Esmeralda's cousin in the Mainstreet hostess information booth. PDL Mainstreet is positively a jewell when you look at DCA's new enterance in the daylight. I know the lights will give it more definition but the facades look so flat. PDL Mainstreet is composed of layers and layers of architectural detail that make it really stand out. Ed did a gret Job.

I think the light posts ruin the 1900's feel. Do we really need so many princesses faces?

Thank you for the update but it is already outdated as the Dragon already reopen and is just a jewel! The works on Central Plaza are a rehab as a BRAND NEW BUILDING with a victorian style has been erected and from what I could see from above the plywood barriers is that it is really well done (lots of details, etc.). This building is here because of the upcoming show "Dreams!".

Reading the comments I went to see the Mainstreet lamp posts, and agree the parade lights are out of character and should be hidden as they have done in Hong Kong. There they pop up on the rooftops for the night time parades and are hidden out of sight for the regular hours. Maybe they can come up with another period lamp head to go on the great posts. All the Tuffys remind me of Gremlins or Pooh Bears when they were stuffed in all the shops a few years ago and faulted the character of the shops interior design and intent. Tokyo Disneyland has some good ideas on displaying the latest products without overdoing it.

The park is looking very nice, but I agree that the light posts are awful and ruin the 1900's feel. I also agree that there is no need for so many princesses faces...

Hope that my daughter will want to be a business woman, physician, teacher, scientist or any other profession that contributes to society and makes her a successful independent woman, and not a princess.
