esmat, I think Nick is uploading it to Issuu at some point in the next few days, after which it can either be downloaded or a print copy can be ordered (I think?). When he does, I'll update the post.

For now, it looks more like a labor of love, and a documentation of his work. Glad you're interested!

My father lives in the Ocala National Forest near the Oklawaha River and the Rodman Reservoir which was to be the starting point for the excavation of the Cross Florida Barge Canal. There are several kilometers of canal and canalised river that were done as test digs in the area. There are huge bridges that were built in anticipation of the coming canal before the project was canceled. In the middle of the forest far from the sea these brideges designed to accomodate cargo and tanker traffic now span tiny rivers. The height and length of the bridges serve as a buffer from the traffic and a project that would have destroyed the Florida watershed had it not been canceled has served to actually protect the Upper Oklawaha River and it is now one of the least developed and most natural paddle trails in the state.
