Heavy wood paneling, a dark brick fireplace, and bright white and aqua tile. How could they have decorated that room?
The stove is quite cute but with all the clutter and water heater(?) nearby, it looks wrong. And why take a picture of one room empty and others messy?
Probably sits on a fault line and the tile floor was scrambled after the last shaker.

The stairs must be an exercise thing... Run up, slam into wall, fall down, repeat until bloodied or unconscious...
