now, I know I have questionable taste... but I sorta like that bench... well, aside from the fact that it dwarfs the house (does it come in a smaller size) and has a weird sticky up piece... Maybe they have really large relatives and are planning ahead for Thanksgiving?
Years ago, there was a house in south Winnipeg with a life-sized Triceratops in the front yard. As a child obsessed with dinosaurs, I loved it.
Sadly it was later hauled away as the owner sold his land to a developer wanting to create yet another cookie-cutter suburb. Oh, how I miss that dino : (
I have a friend in Calgary who has an 800 lb. stone lion in his backyard. Someone advertised it to give away one day in the Bargain Hunter with the stipulation that the new owner had to haul it away. He grabbed it.
Of course, he also has a non-functioning Avro Tutor aircraft in his backyard...despite living twenty kilometres from the nearest airport. His neighbours in Altadore are thrilled.
I am wondering why they bothered having a house built around the lovely Jurassic Park bench. And do you think that is a mailbox inside the "log"? But another detail is the lack of any vegitation in the yard. Do you think Dino ate it all?
Thank is one of the most unique benches I have every seen. I would imagine once the grass grows in or is put in that it will be a very nice place to hang out and chill.
I used to live near this house and believe it or not this was NEW CONSTRUCTION!!! They ADDED this to their yard. To sell it no less. I would drive by everyday and wonder to myself...what monetary value could this add? The part that you can't see is the house ended up being painted THE SAME color as the bench. WHY? WHY? This is in the middle of Garden Grove people...Big Bear is about 60 miles thata way.

[Image] KEEP HANDS AND ARMS INSIDE THE HOUSE. YOU MUST BE THIS TALL TO RIDE THIS BENCH.
(We have Whitney to thank for finding this "Unique Yard Bence Constructed of Concrete.")
"STAY SEATED."

Pardon me, but do you know how much it would cost to have this "bence" hauled away to the dump?
