BP, everyone spitting at your logo? That's terrible! May be time to rebrand, and that takes a lot of money to change everyone's shirt and hat and stuff.
Letters and shortened phrases are popular now. I think the letter " Xe" is taken though. How about "OhFu"?
So you're basically acknowledging that Obama's inability to do anything about this oil spill is now hurting potentially hundreds of small businesses and thousands of employees that aren't in the Gulf States.
Going back to your story this morning about how liberals don't know a damn thing about economics, do you think boycotting BP and hurting these people not responsible for the spill and potentially putting them out of business will increase or decrease the price of gas where you live because of reduced competition from gasoline wholesalers?
Being mad at BP is one thing. Going after the small business owners who buy gas from them is just stupid. We're going to have enough people out of work because of this without this foolishness adding to the unemployment numbers.

Just another post modern protest, make a statement by reacting to the symbol and leave the whole institution untouched. Agreed on that point.
The solution is to reduce our dependence on ALL oil, including plastics, domestic and foreign. In addition to that, move back to middle of a bike friendly city and wait until one of those hybrids is actually affordable and doesn't look so pussy.
Did you see that Daily Kos episode of how a boom in the water is essentially useless and a "V" shape in the water is how you properly contain oil? Those guys at BP are only worried about the message and really aren't even trying to contain this mess. The best minds? I would charter a boat and do it myself if I didn't think I would get shot or grow eyestalks.
Let's see if Mr. Obama is going to prove that he is not bought and paid for by BP dollars like all the rest of them before him. Run them out of Dodge, put New Orleans back to work cleaning it up, and send them and their shareholders the bill.

This story out of the Scranton, PA Times-Tribune shows that BP is hurting at more than just the macro public relations level.
Mohamed Ahmed stopped selling BP gasoline at his convenience store on Birney Avenue in Moosic in December, but never got around to removing the BP sign and green and yellow flower logo.
After the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the outrage from customers, he's made removing any BP association from his store a priority, as are several other area retailers.
Though none of the retailers said they had canceled supply contracts with BP because of the spill, the BP logo is being wiped from the roadside landscape as filling stations and convenience store operators apparently attempt to cover up any association with the company.
Mr. Ahmed covered up the large BP sign with black tarp. He put duct tape and office paper over BP logos on the pumps.
So many people, including loyal customers, complained bitterly about BP that Mr. Ahmed said he keeps his most recent gas purchase receipts to show he is now buying from Shell and Sunoco. He keeps the receipts near the register and shows them to customers to defuse tense situations. "People are very much pissed off about this," he said. "A lot of people." There's at least four BP stations around here on the I-71/75 exits heading into Cincy from the NKY. It's not gotten this bad yet with them, but I'm sure it will be. I know I refuse to stop there anymore. Somehow, I doubt I'm the only one around here.
